I recently had my 4L60e rebuilt before Hurricane Ivan struck. What I did not relize is that the tranny fliud stored in my small garage got contamenated with water. As I filled my truck with fluid, I got pink fluid
. The truck drove fine, but as the fluid heated up the pink fluid came out of the front of the tranny
. I drained the fluid and changed the front seal. I also took my air compressor and blew out my tranny lines and the transmission. The only tranny fluid I could not get out is in the convertor
. The fluid is still leaking and from what I was told the seals wont seal up until the water is out. I have put 15 quarts in and drained it again. I have bought 3 cases of cheap (WALMART) tranny fluid. I plan to blew, and fill and drain again.
Is the the correct way
? I talked to a local tranny builder and he suggested that I do this until I get all the contamenated fluid out of the tranny
.
