Cam and lifter change

I have never done this before but was wondering if I can change the cam and lifters with motor in car. And if so, any parts suggestions for a street set-up??

You can change them while in the car. I've done it.

Get a new cam button, the roller kind. Inspect the front cover from wear by the original button. Make sure to get teh GM break-in lube for the cam. Follow the typical cam break in procedure. You should be fine.
