cam bearings

Anybody have any suggestions for types of cam bearings for our engines. Like brand names and types of bearing material if other than stock. And is there any advantage to reclocking the oil holes as installed in the block. I'm putting together a pretty mild street engine with the basics. Thanks in advance.

How about the Teflon coated Durabonds like I put in my motor? Why GM only?

I like the ones TA Performance sells. Nice and hard like the stock bearings, and they are grooved on the backside so you can orient the hole in any direction (ie the optimum). #1 bearing only has one hole due to this, so that bearing now gets fed oil from the 4 o'clock position instead of the 9 o'clock position.

Just don't get the everyday rebuilder set, they are softer than stock GM, and you may start having cam bearing wear problems.

Thanks for the quick responses, I'll do a little calling around at both the GM dealer and TA. I've used the double backgrooved bearings in plenty of 455's and with reclocking the oil feed hole it gets the oil in right place. While I didn't think the V-6 had this inherent problem like the V-8 does, it sure shouldn't harm anything. Thanks again.
