Cam button?

Guys,
I bought a roller cam from Weber and I have a quick question. My cam button is a Comp Cams and comes with 1 thick (looks like 3/8th thick at most) spacer and than the normal thin shims. Does the thick spacer go on no matter what and then the thin shims make up the difference?

I think I'm going to have to. I didn't want to because I've called them at least 25 times over a 2 week span. I think they'll eventually block my number. lol
