A couple of years ago before I had internet access and found this enormous amount of info on this board, I screwed up and bought a Kenne Bell mark1txb cam.
Well I think it is too noisy. I have adjusted my valves till I am blue in the face and cannot eliminate the annoying valvetrain noise. I think it has to be this cam.
I actually have a knock sensor reading on my scan tool of 1 to 3 at idle. It never increases while driving but is always in the back of my mind and driving me nuts. Makes me not want to put my foot into it too much.
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. The car runs strong.
Is this knock reading something that I will just have to live with until I change to a different cam?
I have checked and rechecked everything that could possibly be loose causing the knock sensor to give me a reading. I am at my wits end on this one.

I have 1200 miles on this build and everything else is fine. Oil pressure is good to go.

I too bought the same KB cam /lifters for my hot air GN. They are very noisy and there is nothing you can do about it. Good cam though.

Does your knock sensor register a low reading like 1 to 3 on a scan tool?

I did not have a scan tool at the time but my knock meter didn't show any readings at idle (only occasionaly on start-up). I now have intercooled motor w/stock cam.
If your knock sensor is installed too tight (makes it more sensitive)
could be one reason why knock at idle (or something is loose).
Good luck.

This knock reading 1 to 3 on scan tool is not enough to show up on my caspers knock gauge.
Dam this sucks!!

Yeah!! Not much you can do about it, except maybe put an extra wrap of teflon tape on the sensor, but ....

I ran that cam years ago(before I found the internet) but couldn't take the noise. The cam now resides on the garage wall.

There must be hundreds of people that went through the same thing with this cam,, the one advertised as "quiet". Really a ripe-off, and maybe a class action suit.....

i had the same problem with kb cam.switched over to atr cam
208 201 . much better with gm lifters. car runs just as good if not
better . no more knock .
