I'm in the process of replacing my timing chain and wondering if I should do the cam sensor too.
I've read that I should check for slop in the cam sensor, but how much is ok and what kind should I be concerned about (up and down, back and forth, spinning).
When I took the cap off the cam sensor there was some kind of dust . . . seemed kind of like corrosion dust, but it wasn't stuck to anything. Should I be concerned about this?
Before I changed the timing chain, the car was starting really hard once it got hot. It started fine when cold. Not sure if this could be related.
I've done searches on the topic and haven't come up with anything too conclusive.
I won't be seeing the car for about another 2 weeks, but I'm trying to get everything lined up so it can go back together when I get back.
Thanks for any help.
