 can somebody tell me what symptoms i will have if the
cam wipes? sorry guys i've never had it happen to me. i want to know because i'm planning on installing a cam in my t-type.
all i here is cams being wiped on the message boards kinda
scarry!

First of all lets get you in the right Forum.
Second, if the lobe is flat you'll hear valvetrain noise as well as a slight back fire or stumble upon accel thru either the intake or exhaust depending on the lobe worn. Moved to Tech

:p sorry about that kinda new here. and thanks for the reply
now i know:D so now what do you think about the 208/208
john is selling on his web site(johns performance) or do you have
any suggestions. like its says on my signiature thats what i have
and upgrading to cas v2 and ta-49 but an unopened block.
thanx

Abner, the 208-208 is a good piece, I've ran it before make sure you run the right springs with it stock LT-1(original's, not late model's) springs are perfect for it. Just like any other cam make sure its broken in correctly. First thing I noticed when I installed it was the motor was alot louder and it idled with authority not to mention my car felt alot quicker with less boost:D
One of the members here have ran that cam in a stock block into the high 9's. One a side note: I see you have a Elcamino:cool: your alright in my book. I own a highly optioned 70 SS Elky it's black on black, flapper cowl, original motor is now a 468 with BB-1 Brodix heads, 288/296 UD cam, Victor jr, 850 Demon, MSD ign system, 400 turbo, 3:31 gears, 3500 conv etc etc etc. Needless to say, I'm an Elky guy, this one is my 7th. Pic's dont do it justice, heres an old one: http://www.endrud.net/elcamino/pics/1970e-3.jpg

BTW... Welcome aboard.

Geoff

;) good looks like i'm on the right track then, cause i ordered the LT springs from john and i'm waiting to get the rods also might as well do it all in the same time.
And for your el camino NICE NICE NICE:eek: clean ya your right
no justice on the picture. Mine is a 396 original engine just freshened up with 10.5:1 comp with gm square port heads ported and polished, schienider hydraulic roller cam, edelbrock rpm intake, edelbrock 800 cfm carb, disc brakes all around, M-21 tranny(original) 12 bolt 3:08 gm posi unit, body not to good right now.(wish i can show you pics) need to spend some money on scanner instead of my cars:p (just ones) i also had another elk back then 69 had a 454 in it and since i live down here next to mexico it got stollen:mad: ! i just finished it too:( again thats a great car you have Geoff and thanx for the welcome and guidance
this is my first fuel injected car i have ever started tweaking on
and boy have i fallen for it! daily driven t-type with some pow pow! well you can count on me asking more questions in the future. I can't wait to take this thing to the track!
thanx again
