Hello,

First off i'd like to say that i have been a fan of GN's and T's for a while now. I like there look and the potential that lies under the hood.

I currently own a 94 Z28 6-speed with a mild 355 LT1 and a Procharger p600b. It has so far ran a best of 7.39@ 97.56 MPH in the 1/8th mile on stock heads.

I've been looking around for a new car and i am seriously considering a GN or T-Type. The only thing is that i have never riden or drove one. I've seen them in person and such just never drove one. So has anyone switched from an f-body to a GN?

Give me some opinions on the two. How hard would it be to match the performance of my current car etc...

Thank you
Travis

Well I had a Third gen...and I'll never go back unless it's for corners, or if it's an LS1 car...I just bought mine and it's already twice as fast as my Z was...If you put as much money into it as you did your Z then you'll kick the crap outta yourself for not buying one to begin with...JMHO.

I had, and still have (for sale) a 1986 Camaro that originally had the 2.8L multiport. I decided on the advice of friends to put in a 87 GN motor and trans. After about $30,000 in the car and drive train it ran 10.90's with high 1.4 60's. I have since come out of the coma and ripped the motor and trans out of the Camaro and put it back where it belongs, in a GN, an 85 to be precise. It may or may not run 10's again (timing and boost turned down) but for now it is a solid 11 sec car that is a pleasure to drive. I would rather push my GN than spend another second in that freakin Camaro (yeah, I know, it's an older one and had a V6 originally, but I've driven older and newer ones, stock and modified and wasn't impressed with any of them). Every Billy Bob, Jethro and toothless redneck from NY to LA has an F-body or knows someone who does. Not everyone has or should have a GN. Only buy the car if you are serious about it, and will respect what it is and can do. As far as performance, the sky is the limit, especially since TA Performance just introduced an aluminum V6 block that can handle up to 2000HP!. Good luck, and if you do convert, let me be the first to say: Welcome to the Dark Side.

Not a bad idea...I looked for one myself, but their was no way I could afford a nice one.

Thanks for the replies...keep'em coming.

Around how much would have to be spent to put a GN into the 11's?

TTA could be a possibility.

Thanks again

Travis
