Cam's which one and why

i have been doing alot of research on cams and im trying to figure out what cam to get. i wanted to start a post so people could put up what cam they have had in there hotair and what the liked or disliked about them. i think i have decided on a cam for my setup but im not 100% sure. any info is great since it seems like the hotair cars like different cams then the intercooled cars and there isnt much info on the hotair cams. anyways post up

212/212 - Because many are running it with good success, AND, I got a good deal on it. Passed emission NP, good idle, 16-17" vacuum, no complaints.
In hind sight - Should have gotton a cam with more exhaust, split duration. JMHO.

Edelbrock 204/214 Cam and lifter kit. Got a GREAT deal. $49.95 clearance. Idles great and the response is great. I got mine after REDS HOTAIR and other had great success with theirs. Speedpro also make the same grind.
I have a Scheider 208/224 that will go in a 4.1. Got a "spare" Speedpro 204/214 to go in my other spare 4.1.

was at sonic tonite one of Comp Cams guys was there was telling him i was gonna run the 204/214 cam. he said it was to much cam for a stock hot air motor. anybody else running this cam?

Lee Thompson has ran BIGGER cams in his HOT AIR. Split duration cams do well in Buicks. RED'S HOTAIR was one of the first to use the 204/214 and run in the tens. Eastern Performance also had a line of split duration cams. One build up in Hitech Performance use 204/214 and dynoed over 600 hp and ran 10.60 @128. I think the 204/214 in my 4.1 might be too little. the 208/224 is just right for my other 4.1.... I am going to test them and different combinations until I find a good combo....

I have run both the Comp 206-206 and a Ruggles 205-214. I would probably run the 204-214. The 204 seemed to respond quicker and sounded a little lopy.
