I wasn't trying to imply that my car or engine is any faster than than anyone else's, in fact my motor is little more than a ho hum stock rebuild, in fact thats all I intended to be. my point is that in building NHRA stock/super stock motors you learn to get the most horsepower out of stock parts( any brand) and make them live you have truly arrived at a perfect engine. when you add aftermarket parts, bigger turbos. injectors, etc. the results are two fold, when built to these standards. most engine buliders hatchet crap together to factory spec( which is junk) or not even up to that. in other words if you think you really did something by just replaceing rings & bearings and adding a bigger turbo, etc. and went a 12.50 you didn't. focus on the horsepower in proper and accurate machining ( like we do) in the basic engine. ( align honing, block true decking, useing a torque plate and a "proper" wall finish, accurate valve jobs etc.) and you will relize how much "hidden" horsepower is in your combo, that you and yor other engine builder didn't even know was there. trust me not all machine work is the same just becauswe it "fits" doesn't mean it's right and we pride ourselve's on our high standards.
