Car is running well, but the BLM at idle has been 143 lately with various chips it used to be less than 120. So I sprayed around with some carb cleaner and did not find any vacuum leaks. I did find that if you spray just a little carb cleaner right into a detached vacuum line that the engine about stalls. I also found that when I detached a vacuum line for a couple seconds, the BLM at idle maxed at 150.

Weird thing I found was the line going from the EGR soleniod (?) to the EGR was not under vacuum -- in fact it acted like it was slightly under pressure. Little "poofs" were coming out of it. And the little "poofs" made my fingers very very black and dirty is short order. The line going to the EGR soleniod was under vacuum.

Is this normal?

Could the high BLM value at idle and this possible EGR problem be related?

My RJC plate is not drilled for the EGR. Could this be a suspect?

Thanks in advance for input!:)

One other item...it sounds like the car has a healthy exhaust leak on the passenger side of the engine. I have tightened the cross-over pipe connections ape-sh!t tight a couple months ago. Can they ever be too tight?

ttt

If my BLMs are high from the exhaust leak, I can fix that easy enough. It may be that simple...

What is going on with the EGR activation solenoid that the line going to the EGR is "poofing" air out at idle?

Sounds like the EGR valve might be toast, letting exhaust into the area the line attaches to?

Just an idea..

BTW when I did my RJC plate i drilled it, EGR is inactive at WOT anyway....
