Can you just use some silicone to seal the header? I had mine blow out and dont want to wait 4 days to get a set from summit. No one locally has them.

header gskts

If your talking about the header to head area,I use HI Temp copper permatex, you know, the stuff ina squeeze tube. Put it on with your finger and let it sit over nite to cure,slam-dunk,never had a problem with this method---Jack

You were using copper gaskets, right? That's weird, they're usually trouble free. By chance were any of your header bolts loose when you pulled them off. I always had a problem with header bolts loosening over time no matter how tight I torqued them. For me, the only way to go was no gaskets. I never had a leak unless a bolt loosened up and even if it did I only had to tighten the bolt up and problem solved whereas it would've blown the gasket out if I had gaskets.

With the GN1s, I don't know if you can get away with that. I've been told that due to different expansion rates, a steel header up against an aluminum head will cause trouble. Personally, I would go for it.

I was using the fel-pro 1400's. I think I am going to use the silicone and see what happens.

Are those copper? Anything short of copper won't hold up.

No they are a heavy duty gasket. I sealed it up with silicone. No leaks so far. I borrowed a g tech. I am having problems with loss of boost. But the car pulled a 5.5 g's from a rolling start.
