Can I run the 700r4 filter?

I am going to change fluid this week and read a little about putting the 700r4 filter in the 2004r tranny. I have an 1/8'' spacer but dont know if that is enough.

I'm running the 700 filter in the stock pan , no spacer needed . Had to shorten the oil transfer tube on the valve body about 1/4 inch on each end . need to prevent the 4th gear pressure switch terminal from grounding out on the filter . Good to go .
