C16 and 25PSI and own him:cool:

You should hook and be out of the hole quicker and just stay in it:eek:

stock Z06 stock tires runs about a 9.20 in the 8th mile here in Jax. Race him from a dig with some good gas and it shouldn't be much of a race..

My sentiments exactly.;)

Guys, Wicked is running around 11.70's in the 1/4, there is no 460 HP stock tire 2004 Z06 that is going to come close to that.

If you pull a decent 60 its all over right away. Most of these guys can not drive a stick with HP out of the hole anyways, they end up killing the tires.

If you ran very close to your sig time, I would put $50 on you. ;)

Unless hes run better times than in his sig, thats a low 12 run, and right where a bone stock Z06 can run from the factory on stock supercar tires. And 9.20s is so slow its rediculous for a stock Z06, even my sisters bone stock Z28 auto ran a 8.5 in the 1/8 on a way to a 13.1, you guys in Florida must be racing in the rain or something;)

I am going to tell ya what I ran in my 1999 vette hard-top, it was not a Z06 but had the same body. I had a cold-air intake and flowmaster cat-back and ported T-body.

On the dyno it made 328 HP in the 1/8 it went 8.60 at 88 on Michelin Pilot street tires with a 2.1 60 ft time. I was actually able to beat a few 405 HP Z06's by a fender on the street but I don't think they could drive all that well.

As a side note on a 150 shot, my car went 7.92 at 96.

I hope this helps some. I'm pulling for ya!! ;)

Ya, that vette in the video probably only had a cone on it:p

Did you see what the other vette ran, yep thats what most will do.

Correct me if I am mistaken, but the general rule for 1/8th to 1/4 times is generally just add half of the 1/8th time. From the slips I have seen, its usually right on the money and only off by 1-3 tenths at most.

At slowest, Wicked is pushing 12.0's.

Yea, just an air filter and a cat back. :)

I have to agree, most Vette owners can't race, my guess is only 5% can do a good job racing, 15 % average skill and 75% below average skill from my experience at the track. I think I fall in the 15% range.

Most Z06's are still stock, maybe an air intake and a cat back. In stock form, most will run 12.7 - 13.3 or so depending on driver. There is a forum member here, that ran 11.5's all stock in his Z06, but he is the exception and a VERY good driver. He would be in the top 1% of skill level.

Head and Cam cars are pulling 450 to the tires now and many have been in the 10's. 383 strokers are in the 500 range to the tires and 427 strokers are in the 550 to 600 rwhp range, all NA, no juice or power adders.

Multiply the 1/8 mile time by 1.57 and that gets you very close if the car is running right, and if the car seems to have a lot of topend, 1.56 may be closer.

Its not working very well with any of these times, maybe 1.54 but the add half still worked out a bit closer.

Well its worked very well on most of the cars ive dealth with at the track, my only iidea for why its off on that board, is because most are trapping very high(the fast cars i looked at) and even though they are DSMs they dont seem to be 60 footing well, so if its not a solid run outta the hole then it really all gets thrown out the window. When i spin horribly in my car the 1.56-7 rule doesn't apply well.

FWIW & IMHO:
I didn't know that here was a forum member here who ran 11.5's stock, but "J-rod"'s father is a member of this board and J-rod has run, I believe, 11.57, maybe. with stock air box removed and slicks, maybe street slicks. J-rod is more like 1/10 of a %, and maybe another few decimal places amongst the crowd. I used to spend some time over there, and J-rod was always one of the top 3, maybe sometimes the top dawg out of all of Corvetteforum racers. I must cop to being at least the worst of the lower skilled 75% crowd. I could probably establish a new record for being the slowest. There used to be only about 3 or 4 people over on corvette forum that were consistently tops.

J-Rod is the guy I'm speaking of. he knows how to drive.

outcome

well i raced him yesterday about 6pm at a local street racing place just him and I, we went from a dig i was running 22psi on alky and 16psi on the MT drags, i heated them pretty good and staged, boosted about 5 psi and were off, right out of the hole he left with traction control on but still spun good thing my 60 foot was much better than his because his car got sideways off the line and when i looked behind he was on my lane smoking his tires hahahaha, i was up front about 3 cars so i just let off and give him another try, we went again from a dig, this time he did better i still got him out the hole by about 2 1/2 by the time we hit the 1/8 i was a good 4 cars in front but by the end of the 1/4 he had made up a good 2 cars but it was too late, end results GN 2 / Z06 0. :) and thats all she wrote, i think he is looking to buy a GN now lmao...

Good Kill !!

I think if he did actually leave the traction control on that was a stupid move on his part. If you leave it on, it seriously kills the power.

But I think he told you a story. If the traction control was on the car could never have got sideways. The traction control will not let that begin to happen.

What he may have done is turned the traction control off but left the active handling on, which is not a good idea either because it uses the brakes as well.

But it don't really matter, you spanked him twice thats all that matters!
