Can i turn trans upside down?

I have my trans out on the ground, will it hurt anything if i lift it up on the engine stand & swivel it upside down, like will anything up top or bottom on the inside fall out while working on it? theres nothing wrong with the trans , im taking my engine out & while the trans out i was thinking of installing a drain plug on the bottom & change fluid & filter while im at it.......new to this one thanks in advance for reply's.

Imho

Take the pan off right side up in case there is junk in the pan. Then turn it over--nothing will fall inside the trans assuming no broken parts.

You might want to post this question on UPS.COM . They have flipped my tranny over more than once, and would be better able to answer your concerns.
