can scanmaster read a thrown code??

My limited started running pretty crappily about a week ago, I think it is the MAF sensor. Anyway the service engine soon light finally came on today and I was wondering if I can read the code with my scanmaster??

depends on the configuration of your chip.

The standard speed datastream chips will display codes on the Scanmaster. The fast update ones do not.

If you have a fast update chip you can still read codes with the Scanmaster. You do it this way:

• key off, wait 10 seconds
• remove fast update chip and reinstall a stock style chip
• key on, do not start the engine, read codes on scanmaster
• key off, wait 10 seconds,
• remove stock chip and reinstall the fast update chip.
