Like ok, I got a Buick 455 in front on a 200-4r
in my Regal. I built it two years ago and it still has
not broke. It was rebuilt all stock with the exception
of a shift improver kit. Ok, second gear is not shifting
like it used to, but it's got the stock band in it

and I
think it is getting burnt. hehe I will be upgrading to
Bruce's direct drum, band, and anchor pin soon. But the
fact that this tranny is a stock 82 olds unit, and has not
broken anything inside yet means some are just better than
others from the factory. I have had it on the track with
slicks too.
So yeah, they can be built to hold torque, just look at the
turbo cars.
