Can you fix a bent chip tab?

I guess I was alittle rough with my Jay Carter street chip and bent one of the little "tabs?" Can this be fixed or should I just throw it away? Also, I've seen some white stuff on some of my chips "tabs?", what is it and can it be cleaned? Thanks.

If it isnt bent terribly, you should be able to bend it back. It might be easier to remove it from the holder first if the bent pin doesnt stop it from coming out.

Just be careful that you do not bend the pin too dard or too fast as they can easily break off. And at that point the chip is junk. You can use needlenose pliers to strighten the pins...the PROMs aren't that delicate.

Hey thanks Jay and Scott for the advice. I bent it as straight as I could with needle nose pliers, maybe it'll work o.k. Hey Jay, finally got to use that 110 chip you burned for me and was very happy with it, thanks again man.
