Hello, I realize my fuel pump is running constantly - and it's not supposed to be that way? I have a hotwire kit, and the fuel pump stops when I pull the hotwire relay fuse. And it runs constantly when I plug the orignal harness together. I haven't checked the fuel pump relay yet - but will do that. So I read about the original oil pressure switch and started to hunt for it. I put in an electric guage about 16 years ago. So I pulled the loom off the harness on the driver side of the engine and found a bunch of wires that were cut and taped up. Can anybody help me identify them? I have been searching for a good wiring diagram but haven't come across one yet.
Thanks
D

So today I did some testing and it appears the green wire that triggers the fuel pump relay is powered all the time when the key is on. From what I've read it's supposed to turn on for 2 seconds then go off till the engine starts? How does it know the engine starts? Could that be it or why else would the ECM be powering up that wire constantly when the key is on. Lastly, is that a big problem to have the fuel pump running? It's only when the key is on but the engine isn't running right?
Thanks

The fuel pump should cut off about 2 seconds after you turn the key on. The car does not have to be started, it will cut off and stay off until you start the car. Ifthe pump runs constantly, it could be because the connector at the oil pressure switch is not pluged in or bad wiring. I had to put a T on my to run the gauge and the idiot light.

Is the harness in the photo the one that connects to the cruise control module or is it the one that connects to the relays on the fender? Where do the wires go that are not cut?

Hi, so the stock oil pressure switch is long gone - and I assume I cut the wires and taped them up. This wires and harness in question is the one that runs below the drivers side valve cover to the front of the engine. So the cam sensor, alt, TPS etc. From what I can gather the:
Pink/Black = Fuel pump prime wire (power for 2 seconds?)
Grey = From oil psi switch - above circuit
Tan = Factory oil light?
Green = Factory Temp light?

PInk/White = ???
2nd Pink/Black = ???
