Hello, I am having an issue with my transmission / car shifting that has me clueless.. My car is a 86 GN with a orange strip, 3000 stall converter. Shifting was working perfect and I took it out this weekend and found that it is shifting from out of 1gear extremely late. From a stand still, The car will upshift out of 1st (into 2nd) @3200-3500 rpm (normal acceleration) and @4500-4600 rpm when I driving it hard. Previously, The car used to shift out of 1st around 2800 to 3000rpm. As of now, 2nd thru 4th gears upshift and downshift perfectly, the problem is only with 1st. If i am in 1st and lift off the gas, it will upshift once i reach 4500rpm. If I get on it from a stand still, it sounds as though it is really straining pass 3500rpm in 1st and once it gets to 4600 (where it wants to shift into 2nd). Once the rpm gets past 4000, it starts to stain really bad and power starts to fall off waiting for the shift point.

Something else weird that happens, is in 1st at low rpm (around 1100rpm) if I get off the gas and get back it the initially doesn't what to respond until 1500rpm is reached. Now with all this said, it kind of has a funny "miss / buzzzzz" noise once it strains thru 1st about get into 2nd gear.

This car is a new build, only 600 miles on rebuilt engine, the tranny looked like it rebuilt before I bought the car.

Here are my scanmaster numbers:

Here is a short video of what the car sounds like in 1st trying to change to 2nd, qnd I get off it @4700rpm. (My wife is helping by holding the camera and scanmaster, she was doing her part :-))

Couldn't post video from phone. I will upload once I make it home later today.

TV cable slip? (top of throttle body, drivers side, half moon push button thing, push it in to set,if i remeber, 5-6 knotches out/seen for performance)

or could be Low on tranny fluid

Thanks for you response. When the TV cable is adjusted will it affect all gears or just 1 gear. I am curious because 1st gear is the only gear that I have problems with.

I have been trying to upload this video, but it seems like the forum does not allow video uploads. Anyone can help?
