Car jerking in OD??

My TTA is stock. sometimes it will jerk kinda fast like it cant make up its mind if it wants to downshift. Problem is, at the speeds it does it, it should downshift. It doesnt do it all of the time. If you pull it into drive it will quit. Put it back in OD, and it will do it. Mostly when your a little above half throttle. Any ideas?

Maybe lockup solenoid going bad .....

How can you tell or check for sure?

The reason i say this is because my car was jerking also in overdrive and slightly in drive only when it got hot. I found out lock-up was staying on even when the ecm commanded it off.

At what speed does it jerk ?

Probaly between 45-65 in OD.

how did you fix yours and what the cost?

I fixed mine by replacing the lock up solenoid.
Cost was about $25

You may want to try to do a search by using "lockup solenoid"
And see if any of these match what you're experiencing.

Is there anything else it could be besides that? Seems like that is all it could be.

That is what it sounds like. Easy way to test is wait until it locks then tap the brake and it should unlock. Do this several times to see if it is responding correctly. If you had someone with a Snap-On tool they could plug into the diagnostic port to check it. One thing I liked about my non-lock convertor!

if the trans isnt backshifting it is a miscommunication between the valvebody , governor ,and tv system and may only need an adjustment .that is why when you go to man 3 it stops .you have just stopped the vbodys ability to go to 4th .it sounds like excessive tv pressure .try loosening the cable and VERIFY EXACTLY WHAT THE COMPLAINT IS,post results and we WILLfix it together www.ckperformance.com
