Anyone have a line on a GOOD car transporter co?
I've been trying since June 3rd to get a car picked up in Eureka, CA., and transported to Atlanta. They keep bull$hitting me and now the last trucker seems to have backed out and left me hi and dry..
The excuse this time is "truck breakdown".
If nothing else, if I could get it moved by a local mover to SF, then the "regular" transporter guys would take to GA.

Any ideas????:( :(
BTW, it's a 64 Belvedere Plymouth that's destined to be a HEMI SS clone!!:D :D

Transporters?

Have found a transport company that actually is in the business of transporting cars!!
seems as tho alot of these so called "transporters", are nothing but a computer and a fone. They are brokers that get a "deposit" up ft, then put out a list of pickups, and hope the independents will take the deal, and do the load. [This was ARROW Auto Transporters out of Knoxville, Tn.]
In my case, NOT! It was too "inconvenient" to make the stop in a California coastal town.... Waited 4 weeks.. no takers. They even sweetened the pot, by giving up some of the $125.00 "deposit".
Should have known that the price of $800 from Eureka, Ca to Atlanta, Ga was too cheap....
I have contracted A-1 Auto Transport, a real co. w/ their own fleet of trucks, to do the job. If you have one of their terminals nearby, the discounts are really substancial..also true for the pickup terminal.. I got $50 off for picking it up nearby the house.
Fone # is 1-800-452-2880. On the web at quotes@a1transport.com I got an instant quote off the website in 5 minutes.
The site also tracks your transport as it moves.

Kinda NICE!!:D :D

Thanks to those that replied!
