A few months ago i bought my 86 Regal T-type from someone. The car already had 60lb injectors, LS1 MAF, MAF translator, 61mm turbo, Scanmaster, CAI, it was chipped and had a "anti-theft mode".A few weeks later the Turbo was bad and i replaced it with a T66(somehow the anti theft mode was now disabled). It ran fine for about 2 weeks until one night i drove home from work to pick up something. The car was running outside for almost five minutes then i could hear it cut off from inside the house(exhaust cut-out). I ran to check on the car and it started up just fine so i drove back to work. The next morning after i got off of my shift, i tried to drive home but the car would only run for 3 seconds before dying every time. No one in my town is familiar with t-type/grand nationals so i had it towed. Many phone calls, $460 and 2.5 hr drive later the car is at a shop. Fp, injectors, connections, MAF, and scanned for codes, everything checked out fine. They did mention the car was shooting a bunch of fuel towards the front of the car. Im definitely not a mechanic but this is what they've told me. After that was fixed the CAM Synchronizer was bad so i had that replaced $290. Then the car ran for 20 minutes at a time before dying(according to them). Now supposedly the anti-theft mode is enabled again except the old procedure isnt working to get it to stay running for over 3 seconds again:confused:. I don't know anyone else i can take this car to and a lot of S**T isnt adding up. If anyone knows what this problem is and a solution to it please let me know. i've been paying for a car i cannot drive for almost 2 months now.:

First off welcome to the board. I would delete or edit your post and delete your theft mode instructions, that isnt something you want posted on the internet. Just stating the car has it and what kind of chip is plenty to post.
What shop did you take it too? Are they familiar with these cars?
Have you tried contacting the person you bought it from for help/insight?

Man, what a nightmare.

Do you have another chip?

Where are you located?

If it's only running for 3 seconds that's your anti theft feature activated.

If you've done the deactivation proceedure and it still wont stay running there's a couple reasons.

1. You're not doing the procedure properly

2. Your battery is weak, and the voltage during cranking is dipping to low and resetting the anti theft at every crank.

Don't give your mechanic the anti theft procedure! It's for you to know only.

If you can't get past the anti theft (for whatever reason), then get a different chip to use until you get the car troubleshot.

Thanks. Im located in Denver, Colorado. Im not sure what chip i have in the car. If i take the chip out will it deactivate my anti-theft and be ok to drive home until i can get a new chip??
