ok i bought a carb from a 1985 Buick Riviera (I think it was) it came off a 305 or a 5.0 buick engine that was in the car (Thats what im told). Now, when i rebuild it do i buy the kit for the 4.1 v6 carb? or the kit for the 305 carb?
Thanks

re:

Hehe, as Gm put corporate motors in their cars, I believe you should buy a kit for a Three-O-Five carburator. Its always better to buy something suited for a particular application. If you had a 4.1, a rebuild kit for 4.1 would be a better choice. But double-check if kits fit for many applications !!
Bye bye !!

Get the carb. number that is stamped vertically on the side of the float bowl. It should be eight digits starting with 170..... The 6th character should be the year(i.e. 5=1985). Anybody selling carb kits will ask you for this number. If they give you a blank stare post back with the carb number and I'll look up the application for you.
