Trying to find out if anyone knows anything about any of the Carfax alternative VIN checking services. Things like www.autocheck.com . I'm sure there are others as well. Has anyone heard anything about these services or used them personally?

just FYI Carfax seems to find a LOT more than autocheck, and carfax isnt perfect... sooo...

Id run VINs at my job too except theyd fire me for doing it... cant even do it for myself... sorry guys...

It's all good Rouge Leader.

I decided to try www.autocheck.com and got myself an unlimited subscription. It was only $5 more to get that than to just get one report so I figured I would try and help some other people out. Let me know if you'd like a VIN run and I'll send it through for you.

Motorcycle Accident?

Hello, i am in Germany and want to buy a Honda motorcycle. I found this forum and heard of TURBOSCOTT an ask me if could do me a big favour and look up a more detailed log of:

VIN: JH2SC57096M206963 has been identified as a vehicle listed in the VINCheckSM Salvage Records.
Date of loss: 2007-10-16
Cause of loss: Collision

THANK YOU!

If you ever want to check a Canadian car Carproof is very complete.
Dips all the province and insurance databases. I was able to tell the current owner when his car got repainted and why.He had done the provincial search, it showed zip.

My guess is that since they include some kind of U.S. reports they would always have something to give you?
Can you tell from a carfax that it was registered/moved in/to another country?
