Anyone ever get this from being on the computer too much? I have been too sick the last (3) weeks to get my azz outta the house very often and think I may be suffering from this as well.

Any possible remedy or advice?

Carpal tunnel is a physical problem with the hands, wrists, and fingers,,,it doesn't make you sick. I've had the surgery and did the research......if you are feeling bad, push yourself away from the pc and get some fresh air.

Im well aware of what it is. I have other medical issues unrelated. Looking for some insight as to what those who had have it did to expeditite the healing process other then surgery. Im typing with my left hand.

At work I am always sitting at a work bench doing repairs/reworks soldering large circuit boards and when I am done I log everything replaced via pc typing non stop much less when I get home. I don't seem to have that problem of carpa tunnel. What is it that your coping with? Is it pain or numbness?

It's a little of both. Pain and numbness. My forearm muscles seemed to be sore.

I have bad Lyme issues but im only noticing the pain/numbness in my right arm and am wondering if I have an additional issue other then my Lyme that could be contributing to my laundry list of issues because my left forearm is symptom free.

I basically have cabin fever being locked up inside my house every day and have spent more time on the puter in the last few weeks then I ever have.

I have it mildly, from using a 60lb jackhammer on concrete footings for 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week for 2 months. And even at that it is very mild compared to a lot of the guys I know.
When you take your hands off the t-bar, you'd have to spread your hands on a wall, because you were unable to open them.
Very happy I don't do it anymore. 20 guys hammering in a parking garage, night shift, dust issues, hearing loss, hitting conduit, etc :o

Well I have laid off using my right hand for severals days now and it seems a little better. I bought a carpal tunnel splint and that has seemed to help mobilize it. Thanx for the help.

I get to wake up in the middle of the night with the CLAW!

right hand is worse then left, left handed but it just adds to my bad knees and beat back:(

Using a splint is usually what docs try first to help rest the wrist, as well as prescribing NSAIDS such as Celebrex to help relieve inflammation. You may also want to try some of the keyboard / mouse wrist support pads, they help keep your wrist in a better angle. If a splint doesn't help(you may need to wear it 24/7 for awhile), next they try cortisteroid injections. If still no better or worse they may refer to surgery, normally outpatient, which means you will be in a splint 24/7 afterwards for about 6 wks. Usually surgery helps to relieve the symptoms. My right hand goes to "sleep" on me alot, especially when driving.

Kool, that's the info I was looking for. I did find some anti-inflamatories in my bathroom so I'll try some of those for a few days. The mouse support sounds good to. I'll try Best Buy tomorrow.

I had it bad,I was doing concrete footing's on a high rise, driving alot of stakes.
I would wake-up 3 or 4 times a night, hands were numb, would have to walk around and shake them
A chiropractor friend told me to get some B Vitiamin's.Take 50mg of B1,B6,B12& a Vitiamin C.He also said to where a wrist brace when you sleep. It worked. No more waking-up with numb hand's
Then i used up all the vitiamin's,didn't get more. And it came back just as bad
I have been taking them ever since

Hope this helps

My wife had it when she got hired on at a start-up accounting firm. They bought every employee a new laptop and elevated desk. Didn't take too long for the damage to set in. She quit that job for another one and was givin a better ergonomic setup from the new employer. It took a few years but everything went away. I was told that vitamin A will also speed up the healing process.

Be careful if you are trying to dose yourself. Vit A, D , & E can build up toxicity in the body. If you overdo the RDA, you may end up with worse problems than carpal tunnel. No mega doses please......

I have it in my right wrist. It got better after I stopped turning wrenches for a living. I was told most of the damage came from using my fist to pound on wheel covers like everybody used to do. Good luck on the Lyme disease, they just did a segment on the news about a county called Loudon in Va. Supposedly it is the most effected county in the US. I feel for you bud.

granted, this is just hearsay....

but i have read that wrist supports for your mouse actually put more stress on the wrist...
