At what power level is this CCCI Hot Wire kit needed ? Right now I have my fuel pump hot wired and I am thinking about purchasing a Red Armstrong volt booster to supply more voltage not only to my fuel pump but ignition and injectors as well. What are your thoughts ? Thanks, Kyle.

The volt booster and hot wire kit will take you mid 11's.I have Reds uits on both of my cars and they work perfectly.

Hey Kevin,

Just curious what the difference is between Reds Volt booster & Caspers Volt Booster?
If anyone can tell me, I'd appreciate finding more about the Reds unit as I hear about it two all the time.

thanks in advance

dave

Red's uses turbo boost to activate, Caspers uses TPS % to activate.

Keven which hot wire kit you referring to, ignition or fuel pump ? Thanks, Kyle.

It's good to do at any power level. These cars need to be treated like the high capacity 12v electrical systems they are. I ran a stock coil pack and ignition module for two years, 50 passes, and 20k street miles in plenty of hot weather so underhood temps were high at times. I NEVER had ignition components last this long before the ccci hotwire. If you do go tr6 Bailey module in the future, you won't need to change your ccci fuse either bc it'll already have a good power source. I still have that well used module/coil pack on hand as a backup. It ran well when I removed it yet.

Edit: The electrical system was designed in the 70's and produced over 25 years ago so some reinforcements go a long way...was all I'm saying.

With good grounds and a good voltage alternator, you wouldn't need the volt booster but that's off topic...

I use the fuel pump hot wire only, I have heard the injector hot wire is a good idea also but have not tried it.

With all due respect I have to disagree with this and don't take my word on it. Do a search and Richard Clarke put a very long and detailed post about this AND he has forgotten more than I will probably ever know o_O My volt booster is like an insurance policy. The volt booster supplies additional voltage to everything when needed JMHO
