I own an 83 T-type that needs the oil changed.

It may not have been changed for 1 or more years. I had caught wind that one needed to be cautious around a turbo when choosing/changing oil. Would someone give me a step-by-step on how to properly do this on my own?

Thanks so much!

Change the oil and the filter. The best oil and filter you can buy.
I recommend full synthetic oil, such as Mobil 1 or Valvoline.
The synthetic oil will find all the leaks, so be prepared.
If you use regular oil, change it frequently, because it will
coke more in the turbo. HTH

It's pretty simple. Changing the oil is just like anything else. Choosing it is a matter of preference, pick the synthetic you like best. Try and get the larger oil filter if you can, I always do and it works great (not sure on the part number though). I would run maybe a little ATF with the oil, the detergents should give the internals a good cleaning.

hey dude check out gnttype.org in the maintenance section under "spring cleaning." I agree with Full syntetic and the Pf 52 ac delco oil filter.
