I bought a retro fit kit. But not sure which is low side service port. I think its the port on passenger side in front of blower motor. Is this the correct place to add new. Old R12 was drained about 9 years ago so I think I would just have to add new 134A.
 
Yes, the low side is usually close to the evaporator. Don't ever put refrigerant in the side closest to the radiator.

Also if you've not done so, you're going to want to put the whole system under a vacuum for an hour. Hopefully you've also replaced your drier and the orfice tube too.

Was it flushed at the time. If not there is residual Oil that isn't compatible with R-134a.

Also others have said. New dryer and orfice tube. Vac at 1 hour is a good insurance policy.
