Hey guys,

If you research my posts, you'll see that I have had issues with the Power $%@#$ brakes on the T. Well, after letting it sit for a week, while I pouted, I decide to go out and try it again. I replaced the fuse, and low a behold it did okay....allowing me to drive it and play a little. I decided to go out and cruise around a little that night and I had the misfortune of finding out why it probably didn't blow a fuse. For some reason, the battery is either not holding a charge (it is brand new) or the 140a Impala SS alternator (also brand new) is deciding it doesn't like to charge anymore. I have heard that if the "volts" light in the dash doesn't light up, that it will prevent the system from charging....does anybody know if that is indeed true? Does the "volts" light show up when the key is in the on position like the "Seatbelts" and "brake" indicator lights?

So far it's buick gremlins-2, me-0 in the buick ownership game. Tell me again why I should like this thing? I know it's got the nuts to run in the 11's, but little S@%t keeps happening that prohibit me being able to learn how to tune this thing!

Thanks,

Do you or anybody happen to have a part # for this bulb? How many more moronic things do I have to look forward to?

BTW, I REALLY wanted to go and represent the Turbo buicks at a local (somewhat) 1/4 mile track today, but no charging & lack of faith in the brakes kept me from doing it.

:(

Nothing special about the bulb. It just has to be there and functioning. It should come on when the "test lights" circuit is activated when you start the car.

Just an update to the status of the charging system in my car. I took the dash half apart and got to the light area and low and behold, the bulb wasn't blown. I switched it with another to check and it lit right up.

So, I pulled the gauge "pod" almost completely out and noticed that there is a plug in that the "pod" slips onto. I cleaned the terminals of this "connector" and the gauge "pod", and put everything back together.

Worked like a champ!! The charging resumed.

I am worried it will creep up though because the distribution circuit board that is along the back of the gauge "pod" is starting to show signs of oxidation and that's not good.

Thanks for the help guys!! Just thought I'd let everyone know that it's not always the bulb being blown.
