I hate to be a cheap skate but I just bought an '87 T and the fuel pump is out on the car currently. This car is in pretty bad shape and I'm doing a frame off on it this winter. Before I begin I want to drive the car once or twice make sure it shifts and stops and everything works (or should I say start making a list of everything that doesn't work).

So what I need is a fuel pump for cheap, I don't want to buy a 255 just for one test drive then let it sit for 6 months before the car is ready to drive again. Is there another factory pump that will work I could find at a salvage yard?

Thanks for the help.

Hey someone else in the hood.........:biggrin: I see you are just down the road.

There is a member in Marion that has a parts car. I am sure me has one you could get cheap.
PM Jims Project. If you can't get a hold of him LMK.

Yep thats probably going to be the best deal for you. Mine was going to be about the same price when considering shipping.

I appreciate the help but I paypal'd wickedtt for an Armstrong XP pump this morning. Thank you for the help!

Nothing about the GN is "cheap"!
You need to look at your priorities.
Going "Fast With Class" is not cheap.
There are many cheap choices in other model cars.

That is funny, see I'm not cheap but I'm also not a dumbass. I'm attaching a picture of my '55 chevy with an LS7, 6L80E, built Ford 9" and Air Ride Shock Wave's. When I ask a question about a fuel pump I really appreciate the people that HELP me...not the one's that have ONE old car and think they're too good to give a helping hand. I need something to hold me over until it's performance parts time, then I will buy whatever the heck fuel set up I want because trust me I can afford it! This is the worst site about smart ass people I've ever seen. Not talking about all the good guys out there that really do answer questions and help with turbo buick tech, but the ones that tell me where I should buy my parts and tell me I'm too cheap to own a Buick. Great looking 55. Nice setup for sure. After I am finished with this turbo t project I have, a 55 with AME chassis is on my list. A shoebox and a TB. I am jealous. Good luck.

I have found most fuel pumps left in car 6mo or longer will fail. If removed from car they last.

I have a Walbro 307 from 1997 that is still going strong despite sitting in the same gas for over 5 years. If your pumps are going bad in 6 months ....... Well that is just insane.

I have to agree with the OP about some of the smartass help that people try to provide. Sometimes it is over the top.

Look dustin just face it you dont have to convince us we are your friends and we can disregard that you have birds circling your head going cheeep, cheeep, cheeep, cheeep lmao!!!
