ok Ive got a 84 t-type has a 86 ecm and maf added mat sensor, heres my readings =
tps .040
blm 131
temp 170
IAC 020
idle 1000
lv8 035
maf 006

im wanting to take car on a long trip was wandering if these reading was ok? Im thinking the BLMs are high if so how do I get them down? this motor has about 3000 miles on it. thanks, mike

Those numbers look ok, although I'm not sure why the RPM would be that high for idle. Was the idle stabilized when you took that number (car in park, sitting for a minute, etc)?
Eric

so what if the IAC# go up as long as the car idles at the correct RPM?
as long as i am idling in the 750-850 RPM range i never look at the IAC settings

yea, if I idle it lower by the torq screw the IAC numbers go up.

You're correct. That torx screw is NOT an idle speed adjustment, it's the IAC adjustment. The idle speed is controlled in the chip.

so what would be better low or high iac #, what about tps too? right now i have it @ 39

IAC's of 20-40 will work just fine, and an idle tps value of .40-.42
shoot for .42

Im with my Chevelle friend, as long as the idle is where it should be, I dont bother looking at the IAC, mine never goes below 55 I think and my car runs perfect
