They didnt used to show specs like that. I asked them all those questions there and got some pretty awesome numbers sent back. Now they show the numbers up front. I found it hard to believe they would sell them so cheap, when at the time they were selling them for 200 bucks even. Just sucks you have to tear the front of the car off to install it.
This spec you guys are discussing:
Compress Air Flow Rate: <500Cubic Feet/Min, Rated to 600-750 Max HP
Double the pressure and its the same CFM, just denser? Doesnt make sense. They're missing part of that equation. You flow test a head at a given pressure differential. You cant flow 220cfm@25" and then say it would flow the same at all different pressures...."we are now flowing it at 28", but it must be the same CFM...just denser". Get it? We need to know flow ratings at a given pressure. Does that thing flow 500cfm at 14.7in? (ambient) What will it flow at double that, which would be equal to running about 15 pounds of boost? Saying it flows a "denser" 500 CFM isnt very helpful. We cant assume it will flow 500 CFM at 30psi cause thats not what they say. They dont say at all. Maybe it will flow 400cfm of air compressed to 30psi, maybe 500cfm of air compressed to 15psi...all about efficiency I guess.
Maybe there is something very simple im not getting here.
Given those pressure drop readings (if they are legit), its obvious the thing works. I guess I need 30 pages of analysis for no reason. One thing I asked them was if they had temperature drop numbers at given pressures. Just because an IC at 20psi has a pressure drop of 1psi compared to a stock IC with a drop of 6psi, it doesnt mean that the temperature drop will be equally better than the stock IC. What good is flow if its not cooling the air at higher boost levels.
