does anybody know what the different Cheetah series turbos equivalents are in the TE and TA series? and turbonetics has a new 10 blade turbine wheel design that they say is better than conventinal 11 blade designs. anybody have or know about the chetah series of turbos? also, if i got a pt-88 w/dual ball bearings and a the new lighter 10 blade turbine wheel and and lighter compressor blade would i still need a hi stall torque converter? b/c turbonetics says the ball bearings decrease lag and make no need for a hi stall converter. all these questions are assuming i have all the money in the world b/c i am poor and like to dream.

I currently have an old style Stage III Cheetah, with an "O" trim wheel. I believe on the compressor side it semi-equates to a TE/TA 44 series per having a 58mm compressor wheel. However, Turbonetics should have the true specs available on their website or be willing to answer such questions if you call them 909-824-1020. I've had good response with help from them in the past, when I had a question. You can also contact Innovative Turbo 1-805-526-5400, as the owner is an ex Turbonetic guy too. They all seem to be helpful.

I don't know about the 88 turbo, but I have the T-72 BB turbo and although it spools a LOT quicker than I imagined a 72 turbo spooling up, I DEFINITELY would NOT try it would a stock torque converter! I have a 3600 converter. And it's about perfect I think. So personally, I think they are high on something if they think an 88 turbo would work good with a stock converter, I don't care how many fins you cut off or balls you put in the bearings. I LOVE the BB turbo, but they aren't THAT good. :)
