Yeah, they've only been on American production cars since 1963. Hehe. I think Olds was first followed by the Corvair, afterwhich cubic inches took over. Then the lame 301 Trans Am followed by a bunch of early 80s Chrysler FWD vehicles.
 
I like this sentence from that article.
"That's because turbos, high-velocity fans that recirculate and compress exhaust gases back into the motor's cylinders"

Sounds like a real knowledgable automotive writer.
