Hey does anyone have a chip for a hotair that will work great on the street, I have not changed my injectors or fuel pump yet.

Hot air Chip

My thought go out to you,
it seems like most Hot-air guys think that you must convert ecm, coils, mod, & buy an intercooler kit, before you can get a chip for your hot-air car. In other words, throw your wallet at it, & turn it into a intercooler Car!! Then you can run high 11 & out run all most any Mustang or Vette in town!

Forget the fact that you knew it WASN'T an intercooler car and that you got a good deal on what you have.

Never mind the fact that you like 20 plus mpg, with A/C on & can keep up with any thing stock.

If you do find a chip, it's prob 90's technology, & they didn't like it anyway!

Look at PTE for help, they will be limited as well. Wish someone could help us.

I, too, I'm up on the fence as to what to do with a stock HOT-AIR Car.
I must be having a bad day or something, but just my 2 cents:confused: Hot-air

Haha, sounds like someone's frustrated:eek:. I think we all feel that way sometimes, but do a search for chips people have been using. U'll find alot of stuff. You dont need to convert all the electronic stuff either. Just the ECM an MAT(i think)

btw gt-send the stuff today, i'll pm w/ details

:o Yea, I know, it's been a long week, HAHA, but if you look at most of the people that are posting in the Hot-air section most have done all the conversion stuff, intercooler W/ intercooler transplant intake, or tell you to do all the conversion Crap. While all these thing are great, no doubt, I've done the reseach on the subject.
While I'm not looking to run 12.5, I'm looking for some (more) performance gains.

I have done some of the basic upgrade, you know, K&N Cone, TA-33, Walboro 340, 30 lbs injector, 237 reg, oil pump booster plate, tranny shift kit & cooler ,16"gnx wheels, all mechical gauges, True dual exhaust & my own modifiled dirt track upper a-arm w/ 12 disc brake & 10" rear disc. I've also been learning how to tune these things W/ help from a good friend mech. Also have a pos for the rear end, yet to install. The car been repainted, interior redone w/ all new weather striping.
I drive the car on sunday, and on weekend road trips & really like this car, maybe I should just leave well enough alone. Oh by the way, 1/4 mile times late last summer 14.40 w/ some wheel spin in 2nd, 60' time were crap w/ stock coverter, (another wish item,as the car is slow gettin going). Maybe if I'd wish for less, it would be enough, HaHa

if you are slow getting going with a stock(d5)convertor and a ta-33 you are probably running rich down low.could be a chip problem, could be a fuel pressure problem.or a combination of both.

i'd also try jim testa for chips,i believe he's burned herb some chips for his hotair.

but what do i know,i'm just one of those intercooler kit/electronics swapped guys...;)

later,sean

I just switched to a tranlator plus and an extender chip. Just got it in a couple days ago, but it feels like it's going to work great.
I have a Kenny Bell chip that came with the car. I think it's pretty mild. I also have a Postons 93 octane (I"m pretty sure it's a Red Armstrong chip) It's for stock injectors and 84 ecm like the Kenny Bell. I also have a Red Armstrong 93 octane for 36# injectors and the 87 ecm setup and one for stock injectors for the 87 ecm.
I had trouble with the Red's 93, 36# for the 87 ecm. It ran great with race fuel, but on pump gas I'd get knock at 3/4 throttle. I think it's got pretty radical timing.
I'd sell the either 84 ecm chip for $50 and the 87 ecm chips for $75 a piece.
Good luck. I'd sure try to get a fuel pump and adjustable regulator asap. Also the other must is a knock guage.
