Chris Chow is racing this weekend in Vegas with the PSCA.
He is in Heavy Street, where you have to weigh at least 3400lbs.
Chris tips the scales at 3610lbs. His combination is a stock suspensioned 87 WE4 with a twin turbo Duttweiler v-8.
He has gone 8.5 @ 163 with the car so far. He is hoping to run low 8's @ close to 170mph.

I will let you guys know how he does.

3610lbs!!! Damn, that is one heavy sum bitch!

I guess that's why the class is called Heavy Street:D ;)

John, definitely let us know how the car runs especially now that it is running on all 8 cylinders.......

Later:cool:

ha thats a lightweight were I'm from. www.sshs3.com
To bad TR's don't weight 3,800+

whos to say that they dont? all you need is alittle lead in the frame rails. if ya really wanted to get trickey about it you could put alittle flapper back there and fill em full of bird shot and then "loose" it in the parking lot after the weigh in.

or you could just fill a helmet full of lead and then get your biggest friend to bring you your other "lucky" helmet after the weigh in and have him lug off several houndred pounds of lead. you can pull that off right infront of the inspectors aslong as he dont drop it on his foot.

Chris qualified with a 8.59 @ 159.25.
Based on the times for other cars I think the track was not
hooking or the weather is not that great.
Most of the faster cars are 2 tenths off.

Chris Chow won the race over Mike Pritchard 8.758/160.23 to a 8.953/127.98.

I have not spoken to him yet. I will give details when I do.

There is a twin 72 400 c.i. Bowtie Regal up here. One of the pit crew members just e-mailed me at lunch today to let me know that they ran 8.3X @ XXX (I forgot the numbers and the email is on my home computer..I am at work). This was done on 10.5" tires. Its not a stock rear suspension car, and it weighs a lot less than Chris' car I'm sure. But it's still darned impressive on 10.5" rubber. They had to shut it down on 8 of 11 runs due to a lack of traction. I should have a run of it making a 7 second pass at our local event in two weeks. This is the white Regal I posted the video of blowing away a rail car last Fall. That video is at my site here.

Please give more info when you get a chance to read the other email. You can email me dirrectly if you like!
