I have a 2004r trans that Im rebuilding and it has a stage right trans brake (so Ive been told but dont know how to verify) I bought a complete rebuild kit from CK performance and was wondering if installing there shift recalibration kit was going to affect the trans brake? Anything I need to do or not do? Thanks!

A recalibration/rebuild kit will have no affect on the transbrake. Just make sure you use the same manual valve, spacer plate, and leave the same check ball out.

The new spacer kit that comes with the recal. kit says it has some "mods" done to it to improve shift quality. I believe there is some holes inlarged. Do I enlarge the same holes on the old spacer plate and re-use it or just re-use the old one and dont worry about it? Thanks again!

In this case just modifying the 2 holes in the rear of the plate supplied with my kit will work with the rest of the stage right brake.Be sure to omit the low overrun check ball in the valve body as well.

There's 2 ways you could do it. 1) Use the new spacer plate and then open up the two holes used for the brake. 2) Use your old plate and match the enlarged holes. I would do the first option just in case your spacer plate has holes opened up larger than the ones in the plate supplied with your kit. If your plate has smaller holes then you could use your old plate and just modify it to match the new plate. It all depends on your access to the proper drill sizes.

Cool, that sounds easy enough. I will use the new one and match the holes. Also one more question for Chris (or anyone who could answer it) I also purchased your billet interm. servo and your book. Your book says to install a apply pin extension on the pin for the servo apply pin. Is this necessary because it didnt come with the rebuild kit and I couldnt find it on your website. When I talked to you to order the kit and servo I had forgot to ask about the extension. Thanks again!

not mandatory but do check the clearance.our servo automatically gives you .020" less clearance than what you had before.

Yes a shift kit can be installed with the trans in the car.
I prefer the Art Carr High Tech Valve Body kit myself.
