Just got done test diving my GN...What a difference!!

I installed the kit because my 1-2 shift at WOT was softer than I would have liked. Upon pulling the valvebody, I noticed that someone had already installed a shift kit (orange 1-2 spring...B&M?). So I'm thinking great...time to order a rebuild kit. I installed the shift kit anyway.

Part throttle shifts are firm, but softer than before, and anything past half throttle makes blows my 275/50R15 Radial T/As away...I mean ten foot burn outs on 1-2 shift. And the 2-3 shift is much better than it was.

I'm happy!! Thanks Chris!!

Now I need to install my new valve springs and Alky kit that showed up today...gonna be a busy week.

hello people; What makes shift kits differant? I have an Art Carr that I was going to give away but changed my mind but in the instructions it calls to drill something. Does this shift kit call for that?

I think Chris' kit comes with a modified spacer plate. No drilling needed.

The Kits have different methods of producing firmer shifts, Springs, orifice hole sizes in Valvebody Seperator Plate, Boost Valves, Blocking Accumulators etc..
CK's Kit comes with a new Seperator plate with orifice holes predrilled. Most kits have you drill/enlarge the orifice holes in your stock Plate.
Many say Art's Hi-Tech kit is a good kit. I haven't tried it but I'm sure many on here have & can tell you how it performs.

Eric, glad the product has done its job.For the guy who has qs on the drilling etc. visit this link. www.CKPerformance.com My approach was to make the plate from scratch so that it would fix the shortcoming in the hydraulics that couldnt be done w/out a new plate as well as furnish a replacement plate because most have the checkball holes are beat up when they are removed for installing the kit.Making the holes a fixed size maximizes flow in the circuit w/out banging on shifts and the accumulator springs fine tune the 1/2 and 3/4 .The 2/3 is set on kill but gets firmer with more throttle so its as good as it gets.

hello people; Chris 718 I read about your product and I like the way it sounds. I never liked the sound of drilling as on the old Art Carr kit I have. I wonder if the kit changed at all in this year of 2010?
Does your kit cum with a filter? And what filter do you recommend?

hello people; Chris718 any answers on my filter questions?

The kit does not come with a filter.

I used whatever the parts store had...I think it was a Wix.

hello people; I'am old and I can say what I want but a filter should cum with the kit. It makes sense. Maybe the vendor will take note. And as a trany man he probably has an opinon on what filter as with oil filters they can't be the same.

don't forget a quality pan gasket too

The kit does come with a good gasket. The filters on these things are nothing more than a plastic screen that keeps the big particles out of the pump.
