How do I go about cleaning the MAF sensor? Just take it out, and spray it all over with the "CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner Spray"??

Yes. Just use the little plastic straw on the can and spray the cleaner on the wire and even on the circuit board to clean it. Dries in like 3 seconds. Just did this on my daily driver and the car idles better and seems to run better too..

Can you use carb, brake, or intake cleaner, or does it have to be this "CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner Spray"?

It must be specifically MAF sensor cleaner. Anything else and you will ruin the sensor!!!! Another thing that I have tried before but don't recommend is rubbing alcohol with a cotton swab to gently clean the wire in the sensor. If you do this be very gentle to the heated wire otherwise you will break it and then be looking for a new sensor.

I recommend just using the MAF sensor cleaner from CRC.

Not really. I cleaned the one on my car and couldn't believe the crap that come out of it. Being 20+ years old I figured I would clean it. I think that the dirt and other crap that makes it through the air filter from everday driving coats the element after awhile affecting the sensor. I cleaned the one on my 2000 Ford Crown Vic. too, and couldn't believe how much better it idles and runs.

Just my $.02

i clean mine and my friends with good ol electronics spray.use a q-tip on the element(flat shiny burg color w/gold taces) after you do the intial clean out. dont blow out with compressed air or hit the maf on anything.sudden shock will ruin it.

gotcha. im hope to get a XFI soon so i wont need to worry about it.

I clean mine a few hundred miles after cleaning and oiling my K&N air filter, in case some of the oil from the filter gets sucked into the MAF.

How do you take the screens out? Should 1 be left out (for better performance), and if so, which one?

one should be left out. there is a plastic retainer that holds them in.

I leave the leading side in, and take out the 1 closest to the TB.
The retainer can be removed w/ a small metal scribe/pick..
