SignUp Now!Gary,
It's funny because I just came in from the garage. One more wheel to go on my set of wheels.
If you have some high temp masking tape you can mask the polished parts and then bead blast It should clean it up quick fast and in a hurry. Much easier than trying to scrub the polishing mud off. I blast mine after it's had an hour in the oven at 500 degrees to bake off the impurities and oil/grease.
Once clean you can give it a hit of gloss clear powder but you have get the wheel clean (use pre painting prep) and make sure it cures. If it doesn't cure fully it'll crack and flake off the polished parts (ask me how I know) and stripping powder is a PITA. Cure for 20-25 minutes after the part hits curing temprature.
yep me too, i have one more to polish today.....i was black after just doing three.....thanks for the info.....you're powder coating your own?
I had lots of my engine aluminium parts polished then done in ceramic coat clear. I think it's what Edelbrock uses on some of their intakes. Very hard stuff and just cleans with glass cleaner. I had it done two years ago, and it still looks like new. Should work on rims too.

I think that they charged me about $100.00 to clear ceramic coat my polished valve covers. They also did my intake and dog house.
