I did when I put mud flaps on my work truck. It was pretty much invisible at first but after 3 years you can start to see moisture and discoloration under it.

Jerryl,

Can you post a link? I did see where autozone had some 3M spray on protectant I might try.

I have used it a lot and removed it a lot also . I have some too we use diamond shield. It does work and protect the paint. U just need to keep a plastic protection on it where it won't get dull looking. Such as 303 protection. It is hard to remove I use a heat gun or a steamer. It goes on like Window tent.

Interesting test. Definitely 3M is the way to go. Looking more to add it to the rear lower quarter panel.

I have pulled lots of the older 3m off that was molded maybe it has changed

I do it a few times a year. The newer stuff I figure is better. Most I pull off is from 04-07 been on there a while. Lots of times I have had to use a razor blade and scraper. Bad bad and repaint. But being at the bottom of the car would be better because the sun is not directly on it, but black or dark colors gets so hot it bakes on.. I pull it off of motorhomes front-ends win wrecked or it needs replacing
