Clearing Fault code on a BMW

I selling one of my obd2 scanners. Was asked if he could test it out to see if it will clear fault codes on a bmw. He did not specify year or model. I sent him an a reply email. But assuming it is a OBD2 car.....are BMW "special" when it comes to code reading?

My 2000 benz is OBD2, my scanner works fine on it.

Just make sure he isn't having you clear his code just so he can get it cleared and not buy the scanner.

Make him pay half. If it works hes gotta pay the other half, if it dosent work you give the money back and send him on his way

All 96 and newer cars have OBD and can be scanned and cleared by even those cheapie ones on tv. Most professional scanners will need extra cost software to get more than basic info on BMWS, Benz and so on

I have an Equus 3100. I dont see anything that says it will or will not work on BMWs.

i thought the fix for anything electrical on a BMW was to drop it off at the dealer.. and they will only look at it after they verify that your credit card has at least a $2000 limit?
