I HAVE NOTICED LATLY MY CLIMATE CONTROL LIGHT WILL BLINK FOR THE HEAT CONTROL JUST OUT OF NOWHERE ANY IDEAS? IT IS THE DIGITAL SET-UP. 86 gn

Try to find yourself the factory shop manual. The climate control is self diagnosing and the blinking lights tell you what part of the system to check.

I am pretty sure if your battery is very low it will blink also.

have fast system and have not noticed a voltage drop about 13.7 or more when running, when i shut off the car and restart it will not blink. then it will start again but the heat will still work. i will try the manual if it has codes, van

I do not believe the " Blinking sequence" has any code value with the 86 Regal system...It simply means the system cannot perform the indicated temp..setting.

When you turn off the ignition switch, current clears the trouble fault...

I wired a push button switch into the wiring harness to clears this fault, so I did not have to kill the engine to clear a fault....

Oh, thanks alot! Now I am having trouble with mine!! Blinkity blink. The temp door is not moving properly. Tha;s another thing that will cause the blinking! Must have some way to know if the rod is moving the door. Mine is being hung up by a plastic runner above the door that is a wire chase. Must have installed the wire chase out of place just enough to jamb the door. Trying to finish up a total resto project. I also had to wire in a switch to create an AC Request signal in order to turn on the compressor clutch. Used it like that for years cause I could never find the cause of the missing signal. Just charged up the AC this afternoon but had trouble with the blower motor, AC cutout relay, and the ECC blinking. AC lines are cold but there's no cold air in the car yet. Fix one thing and screw up another. Then we found a spot of oil on the floor (like maybe the rear main seal). Hasn;t leaked a drop since we got it running 3-4 weeks ago and it hasn't been actually driven yet. Just move it in and out of the garage or from one bay to another. Oh well ,what's a few more things to fix!

My '86 WH1 has the digital climate control, It blinked when the car was not charging correctly. 1st - bad alternator 2nd bad bulb in dash. I usually panic when i see it blinking

This system is self diagnosting, for example if the temp light blinks the programer is hanging up or needs to be replaced and if the function light blinks(AC,heat,vent) than the control needs to be replaced. This is just an example, please check the sevice manual for the correct procedure.
