I'm not one of the Buick brothers. I am actually running a 79 Vette, but I just purchased a 200r4 since a th-350 doesn't give me my overdrive and views on the 700's are up and down. I am looking to rebuild this tranny. I have had mixed answers from different builders on what i "Need" I am running 480 horse at the flywheel right about 500lb/ft of torque. I will be spraying only once and a while. This is an 80% street car. I will have a 2500 stall with lockup.
Some have said that a trans cooler, deeper pan, a performance rebuild kit and a new valvebody is all I should need. I realize that my budget can be a problem. I want enough for it to last, but I really don't want to be redoing for the next year. Here are some of the kits.
I have also heard, it only takes one shot of the nitrous, and I respect that argument, but I just can't shell out for all billet.
