I heard that by installing a clutch switch you will gain 3 to 5 mph in the 1/4mile. Wouldnt this be bad for the torqe converter. Thanks. James

Locking the TCC at WOT can increase MPH.
Depends on if the TC is designed for WOT Lockup. Stock or most single disc TCs are not & will damage the TCC. May/can damage the Trans also.
TC= TorqueConverter.
TCC= TorqueConverterClutch.
WOT= WideOpenThrottle.

lots of threads on this. Do a search.. We have been locking up the STOCK converters since 1986 in our 12 sec cars.... 2007 with a 9/11 LU in a 9 sec car. Have a LU switch right by my hand all the time. Stock Buick we picked up 2/3mph..TTAs 3/4mph. 9 sec car went from 133 to 138+
