code 41

was driving my 84 down to my moms (4 hrs away) was almost there and car quit, had fuel pressure no spark. hooked my scan tool up every time i checked a mode it said "not used" put a code reader in it said code 41. its got a new cam sensor cap. could my alarm system be doing this? pulled it the rest of the way, it sat for awhile cranked up. is my module going out? the comp is a 86 out of a fwd that i converted. thanks, mike

could be a module problem, because even if you lose the cam sensor while it's running, it shouldn't quit! Check for dirty/loose connections and grounds!

That's exactly what happened when my ignition module went bad. The only problem is they are nearly impossible to test. For about $100 you can pick up an '86-'87 module. Postons and Caspers sells the adapter plate and wiring adapter to complete the installation. Of course I have to say this. Check the 7.5 amp fuse in the fuse block marked CCCI.
