I have a code 42 I replaced the coil pack last night and it came up again this morning on my way into work . Would my cam sensor cause this if it was not set right ?

No.
Check your translator connections and ecm connections .
Do you have the white timing wire on the translator hookef up, if so check those connections too.

I would first spray Deoxit on the ECM pins and connectors and connect and disconnect a few times. Do the same with the module connector. Anytime the positive battery cable makes contact with the header a 42 can set. This is more likely to happen during full throttle when the motor twists to the right side.

The specific terminals on the ECM that are involved would be D5 bypass circuit and D4 EST circuit. I would also check the ECM power connector by the battery.
The terminals at the module that are involved would be A,EST circuit and B,Bypass circuit.
