Code 44 & Bosch O2 Sensor

Hi-
I just got my Scanmaster 2 installed today, and I'm pulling a Code 44. I recently installed a Bosch O2 Sensor, and I'm wondering if that could be why. The sensor was the one on the Pep Boys computer. I don't know if it's heated or not. I think that it might be faulty, because the Scanmaster occasionally displays 000mV. Any opinions?

Trust me on this one, use the correct AC Delco unit, the Bosch piece is inconsistant. I just took a new Bosch O2 sensor out of a friends GN yesterday, the check light was coming on(don't know the code, don't care.) Put an old used AC D sensor in and no more light. I've seen this same behavior several times in friends' cars.

If it is a one wire O2 it is not heated. Bosch ones suck IMO, mine wouldnt even throw a code when it went bad. For $25 its worth a try for an AC Delco

either get yourself a heated o2 sensor from kirban's (if you run leaded race gas alot) or get the oem ac delco one with the purple wire...i too had a bosch before and it didn't last very long...

Sad thing is, all the local parts outlets keep only Bosch in stock, at least around here. They sometimes call it the "High Performance" model! Yeah, right. No other choice unless you want to order/wait. Might as well order yourself online.

One other thing: The Bosch unit is longer as well. If you are running Postons replacement headers, the O2 hits the heater hose!

Napa sells an Echlin unit that might work, however, I have one of these and the O2 readings seem to wander around (Better than the Bosch I had, but I'm getting a Delco just to compare.)

If you want to get ac delco just go to ram chargers and call in an order I think they still our 3 for 75.00

Plus, any GM dealer's parts counter should have one in stock.... for about 30-35$
