hey guys, i've already made the coil module upgrade buy using the wire conversion from the schematic on gn type.org. been running it for months but i'm still confused about something. when you make the conversion and continue to use 84/85 ecm do the wires remain in the same position or do you swap them. i have mine in the same way they were originally installed and even though i have'nt noticed any problems i'm just curious if i may have them 180* out and if so how will this affect my performance.

NO problem! Each front/back pair of plug-wire towers on the coilpack are essentially the same tower! Both spark plugs connected to each pair fire at the same time, so it doesn't matter if those particular pair of wires are reversed!

The ECM has nothing to do with coilpack wiring, and it wouldn't matter anyway, because the HA and IC ECM's are wired the same! What matters is how the coilpack is wired to the ignition module, and it appears you've got that okay!

Also, the HA and IC ignition modules are wired totally different from each other, but I take it you have the HA module?

re: coil module

bfh, thanks for your reply it was very helpful but you miss understood what i was saying, yes i understand that it is a waste spark design but i just wanted to know if it made a difference how the plug wires were installed after you made the ignition coil conversion.
